beautiful elopement at the lumen room in downtown houston. I have known this couple for years so it was so meaningful to capture this emotional and love filled day!

hi there!
I am Grace Mize, a wedding & portrait photographer based in Maine & available for travel worldwide.
so a little about me, I live with my lovely boyfriend, Chris & our 2 cats in Portland, Maine. when I am not behind the camera I am obsessing over week to week television, baking for my loved ones, going for walks, & taking film photos! I also love traveling & will always jump at the chance to bring as many of my cameras as I can to a new destination!
I shoot with a storytelling angle to all lovely humans I get the opportunity to photograph. with 9 years of experience under my belt, my goal is to give you photos that you love & feel confident in, & to preserve moments you may not have even realized were being captured. I aim to create images that bring a moment to life, and feel like you and your loved ones. I fell in love with photography as a child by taking photos of my friends & family, so I understand how meaningful & important it is to have those pictures to look back on. time moves so fast. I started out doing seniors and family photos in high school, & then went on to have a career in the corporate photography world. I shot for Michaels, The Container Store, JcPenney, & worked for many talented photographers doing studio and fashion photography. I came back around to doing weddings by shooting some of my friends weddings, & just realized how rewarding they are to photograph & being a witness to those tender moments.
weddings are my favorite thing to shoot nowadays, & I take so much inspiration from vintage wedding photos and people sharing their grandmother’s & mother’s wedding photos. shooting on film & taking a fly on the wall approach is a big part of that timeless aspect for me (although I love a formal sitting wedding portrait). I don’t want your wedding day to feel like a photoshoot, and I don’t like orchestrating moments that don’t feel natural to you and your partner.
if you have a special moment or session you need captured, click here, or scroll down to send an inquiry! I would love to chat with you & discuss how we can make it happen!
Much love,
G
